Seems like an elementary concept but I am struggling with this.
For example: Runners on 1st and 3rd, less than two outs. Fly ball deep enough to score the runner from 3rd. The icon is "flashing" or "throbbing" for the runner on 3rd. However, once the outfielder makes the catch, both runners advance when I just try and send the one from 3rd. How do you send just the guy from 3rd while leaving the one on 1st alone? I tried the controls of: left stick + [icon]/L1 Does that mean that you hold the left stick to the left while holding/pressing the square button while the ball is in the air and THEN press the L1 button after it is caught? Do you have to do all of that simultaneously? Does the runner on 1st playing it half way automatically go back in this scenario? The bolded part above in the baserunning instructions is vague to me. Thanks for any help...I constantly run myself out of innings by not being able to accomplish this. |

Default Baserunning
O = 1st base, Triangle /\= 2nd Base, Square [ ]= 3rd Base, X = Home L1 = Advance all runner, R1 = Return all runners, R2 = Stop all runners Man on 3rd = Left Stick & Base Icon X (sends him home) Man on 1st = Left Stick & Base Icon O (sends him back) You can also indivdualize leadoffs using this but instead use Left stick & L1 to extend or Left stick & R1 to shorten Last edited by HITTERSAURUS-REX; 06-26-2012 at 07:27 AM. What about this scenario:
Bases loaded less than two outs, deep fly to center or right or right center, the runners on 2nd and 3rd tag automatically, while the runner on first goes half way... It's near impossible to get both tagging runners to advance without getting one of them thrown out, as there is too much lag in the response time. I usually just score the guy from 3rd and don't try to advance the guy on 2nd... *sigh* One of those little nagging flaws in the game. Probably a number of different things they could do to fix it. I think the easiest would be to have the runners advance on their own in scenarios where they should obviously advance, and then allow you to override their decision by taking control of them if you wanted to for whatever reason. That's how they handle most other base running situations, like freezing on line drives and first contact plays with runners on third. |

As far as stealing, with runners on first and third, how do I attempt a steal with the runner on first only? Every time I try, the runner on third steals as well and almost always is tagged out.

what you do is you hold l2 and with the left stick angle it toward 1st then press l2 again and the runner on whatever base you angled the left stick to will go without anyone else moving

Or you can just point and click on the runners you want to advance the throwing motion of the fielder allows you to do this without compromising your tag up timing. You could also just press LB and then point and click on the runner you want to return. Simple as that if it's even simple at all lol!
