Default Player Number Change

I created myself so that I can play a season with my own created player. When I save my roster, I have my proper number which is #24; however, when I attempt to load my roster for season play my number has changed to #25. Any ideas how to prevent this from happening as I wan to play the season with my correct number.

mmm if there is a player in the team that already have that number then your number would get changed.

the only way to prevent this is looking which player wear number 24 and change it to other number using the edit player option.

That is the funny thing in that there are no #24s for the Dodgers. On my regular roster, I am in #24, but when I move the roster to the season mode I am now #25.

Lol...I no longer play rtts or franchise...I'm strictly a DD guy now...however I remember having that same issue a long time ago wanting to play with #21 and allways getting #23 or something else...I finally figured out after a while that it isn't until your created player reaches a certain status ( in other words becomes a stud ) that you get to use any number you want.

I agree that the retired number does not apply in the game. How does he become a stud so you can use him a season as the correct number? It isn't the same not having the right number.

there is no such thing as becoming a stud so you can use a number, numbers are subject to availability, if you can use certain number is because either the number is retired or someone else on the team wear that number...

Put it to you this way...since MLB 10 I always created a guy with #21 and in minor leagues I sometimes got it but most times would be issued another #...then in majors I would never get it at first even if nobody else had it on the roster...then after my player became a star or stud or whatever...lol...I could get that number #21 even if it was playing for the pirates wich I'm sure you know is retired...even on another team I would get that number or any other number I chose... even if someone else had it they would give it to me...worked that way even this year....so Idk..

You cannot wear a retired number period. My favorite number is 3 and my favorite team is the Braves, I started playing this on MLB 09 and I have never been able to wear number 3 for the Braves. It doesnt have anything to do with being a stud or not, if no one on the roster that you are on has that number you can wear it unless its retired then it bumps you to the next available number up from that. There is no giving of numbers from other guys either. We cant even get outfielder depths programmed right in this game you really think they are gonna add something like another playing giving up his number?
