When I only had a 360, one of the only things I really liked to do with 2K was that they had a playoff mode and I liked to play along with the real playoffs. While The Show is superior in every way, they unfortunately don't have a playoff mode where I can just plug in the teams and go.
What I've tried to do is, control the 8 playoff teams in a 14-game season so that they would finish in the correct order to set up the playoffs accurately. For the NL, I had the Nationals finish 14-0, Reds 13-1, Giants 12-2, and Cardinals 11-3. It worked perfectly and the playoff pairings were correct. However, I can not get the AL to work and don't understand why. Because there are only 15 teams in the AL, each team would have to play another team twice. It just so happened that the Yanks and A's played two time. I finished the season once with the Yankees going 14-0, A's 12-2, Tigers 13-3, and Orioles 12-4. The game paired The Yankees (1) with the Tigers (3) and the A's (2) with the O's (4). I tried again. This time the Yanks were 14-0, A's 12-2, Tigers 12-2, O's 9-4. I still got the exact same pairing. WHY? Why is this? |

With current format (old) in MLB 12 teams from same division (AL EAST) cannot play each other in first round of playoffs.
