Default Install Problems

Hey guys,

I just bought a pre-owned MLB 12 from gamestop. The only problem is the game won't install, it gets stuck at 73% every time. I've tried both the 10gb and the 5gb install but neither will work. I've restored my PS3 and all that jazz but it hasn't helped. Can anyone help me???

I would say there is a reason someone traded in a MLB12. If it was me I would return it because it sounds like a defective disc

I returned the disc, the new one installs just fine...guess that was easy enough

That's odd. My MLB12 game worked just fine on my old PS3 system, but yesterday, after 6 years, that system got the Red Light of Death. I bought a new system, and now every attempt to install the game gets stuck at exactly 73%...but since it worked well on the old system, I'm WAY past just taking the disc back to the store and asking for a new one. >

How's the disc look, scratch-wise? I had an original 40 gb ps3 til August, then my fan went out. I got a 120 gb ps3 after that and my disc works fine in my new ps3. Try getting it cleaned somewhere

Not a scratch or a fingerprint on it anywhere. You'd think it were a brand new disk.

I can try a cleaning, but it will only scuff up what is currently a polished disc...of course maybe that will help? Doesn't work now, does it? If that doesn't work, I may just wait until The Show 13. I have a bunch of PS3 games I haven't even played yet, and sounds like I'll be getting a few more for Christmas (my son has a hard time keeping secrets).

That is weird. I'm praying my ps3 doesn't burn out on me. It's the old 60g (maybe, can't remember, I put a 500g in) but its still kickin it like its brand new. But if I were you, I'd just bide my time like you suggested, until march when '13 comes out.

Couldn't help myself. WalMart had MLB 12 for $19.96, and I was having withdrawal.
