I really would like a mod or developer to answer this question, not trying to start a whole debate about this just a short simple answer would be accepted and then you can close this thread.
So my question is this if your OP's Pitcher Confidence is full is it possible to get a solid hit to make a comeback or is it a strong influence on your batter making him nervous causing him to pop-up or ground-out? |

when confident is full you can still get a solid hit but its just gonna be a bit harder because the pitcher feel like he's the king of the world and that no one can hit him... pitching with more confident will cause the batter to hit a lot of groundballs and stuff like that. with full confidence the location of the pitches is more sharper too...
atleast this is how a feel the game when pitching with full confidence. |

To me, pitcher's confidence just means the pitcher is going to recieve a little more forgiveness on his pitches. His meter is going to be more steady, and his mark is also going to be a tad easier to hit. I don't think my batters get 'nervous', that's just silly, lol. They're professionals!

Had a guy in one league pitch 15 innings 204 pitches with CC Sabathia and his confidence remained full entire game. I got it down about halfway after first couple innings due to a lot of balls, but in the end it did not matter as he was able to get confidence back. Pretty lame if you ask me

If your opponent's pitcher has his pitch confidence high you should NOT be swinging early in the counts. The best way to bring his pitch confidence down is to work the counts and run up his pitch count. |

That's what I said in the first place in my other post, bring his "confidence down by making him throw more pitches, the problem is though he's likely to hit his strike zone marks right on and its hard to work the count". I totally agree though work the count if you can to bring it down.
P.S. Nice job Adil beating flipwingnut, I couldn't he was throwing me off with that CH n SP |

I find that pitch confidence is too random, at least in franchise. Last night I had 4-0 Tim Lincecum, coming off of a 9.2 inning win, going up against Clayton Kershaw, coming off of a 5.1 inning lost. It took about 6 innings of 2 hit ball for Timmy's confidence to max out, yet Kershaw was at 90% after 2 innings and was down 3-0. To me that doesn't make too much sense.
