overall i liked Diamond Dynasty BUT i stopped playing after a while, maybe it was possible in 12 but i thought it absolutely horrible that each player was limited to the number if games played, i edited a 3B and made him to be my own character, & i boosted his stats..then after a while he wasn't on my roster anymore and i was unable to get him back..if theres a way we could keep ALL of the players we want, be able to play offline, AND be able to send an invite to our friends to play against them like a regular exhibition game (while online of course) then i would spend a lot of time on this game mode as well

That's actually true. You can only play online in the DD mode. What I think Etienne meant was you could play "offline" meaning versus the computer not 1 vs 1 against a live player. But you still have to be online to connect to that. How could you be on DD offline? You would have no link to the marketplace to buy or sell cards. No link to the PSN store to buy packs of cards. How on earth would you replenish your team? I don't think an offline DD is feasible.

Second, to be able to play against friend could be good, but it would have to be unranked games to avoid abuse. Bottom line: There's always franshise and RTTS. I had a lot of fun there too. |

I bought MLB: The Show 12 primarily out of anticipation for Diamond Dynasty. As much as I enjoyed it last year, even then I was looking forward to this years version. As is to be expected, such an ambitious mode will have its flaws to work out in the inaugural season.
I like the idea of new player cards with skill caps. As much fun as it was to build a lineup of sluggers, its simply not realistic to have great hitters 1-8. 7-8 (or 9 w DH) should be primarily defensive contributors. A few things I would like to see in the future for DD. Franchise XP- Not necessarily based on wins and losses, but on innings played. As you gain XP, you can unlock Batter/Pitcher/Fielding training sessions. Stadium selection could be based on this too. As a new team you can choose from the spring training stadiums, and as you gain XP, the minor and major league parks become available. I think that would add an impression on a road team as to what type of player you are going up against without really having to add anything new to the game. At some point you understand the mode enough to not really need MLB players, so that could be reserved for new and inexperienced teams. Dynasty Reset. Allow teams to start over from scratch, reset their XP, but with increased initial budget based on previous XP. Clan/League support. - Rankups are likely the reason we are not permitted to set up games with our friends. But if we could set up "leagues" like clans to be a part of, where the winnings and XP in those games would go like a cumulative score, instead of to individual teams in those league games, while still maintaining the game penalty for players. "Leagues" could have a standings, records, all-star page. A team wouls still have to participate in the regular DD for its budget, but a minimal league/clan set up would allow for games between friends, to some purpose, with penalty of it counting towards used games for players, while not being advantageous for individual teams. Diamond Dynasty is a great addition to the show. It really could be a stand alone game IMO with enough additions. Eventually Id like to see a DD/RTTS hybrid mmo like Ultimate baseball online tried to accomplish, but thats a seperate post. One thing at a time! Last edited by Rifle_Man81; 02-07-2013 at 09:08 AM. |

Check your 4 lineups. More than likely 1 or more has a spot open. Fill it and you should be fine.

Concerning players with 1 GA...
If these contracts are done on a per inning basis, what happens if I try to use players with 8 or less innings left, and then the game ends up going 9 innings. Will I experience a freeze in the middle of the game once one of my player's inning counters has run out? I know that last year if you put a 0 GA player in your lineup, he got to finish all 9 innings regardless if he had 1 inning left, or 8 innings, didn't matter. I'm wondering if the game is treating this differently this year, and that's why we experience game freezes during late innings? Get back to me. |
