Well my first attempt at not using GP was Ok i guess. I was only able to hold up and NOT swing at 2 pitches all game. I just don't have an eye for how the pitch travels. i tried practice mode but the ball is coming in way too fast for that and even on 0 pitch speed the ball is getting up there pretty good this year... so i think im *****ed either way...

Won 5-4 (was only hitting) and struck out 14 times... there were innings well many strung together innings the computer probably never even threw a strike where i was just swinging at everything...

I use guess pitch with no feedback because that gives you the biggest bonus if you guess the pitch or location correctly (as well execute a well timed, properly aimed swing), it's almost a guaranteed extra base hit.

Guess pitch with feedback seems useless and almost more of a distraction than an aid to me. Even if you guess correctly. the chances of you getting a hit on a well executed swing seems to be the same even when you guess correctly. Also knowing that you guessed the location or pitch correctly doesn't tell you whether or not the pitch will be a strike or ball. Guessing correctly sometimes just makes me get anxious and swing earlier than necessary rather than analyzing the pitch and timing it like I normally would when I don't guess.

Well i have a couple of ideas ogn how to help me get through this no guess pitch thing.

1. just go back to my MVP Days and not even touch the controller until i have two strikes on me. This way it will help me build pitch count against pitchers. Even if it is only a three pitch at bat. keeps me from swinging at the first two pitches never the less.

2. there have been people over on OS who have had house rules like using a deck of cards to figure out when they swing or what pitch to use... i might go around and see if i can find some of those to get some idea how to work that.

3. i could use a die or dice to do this as well as i could go even and odd on swing choices..

if there is anyone that uses house rules on this game please share... would love to hear your suggestions.

It does mess the pitcher up some and makes the game slow down some. I can't do it anyway because I'm a terrible guesser.
