Planning to watch it before bed tonight.

SDS

Watching it takes you right back to the time. Seems like yesterday

SDS

Really well done documentary. Sammy had such a contagious personality and McGwire was built like a tank lol.

SDS

McGwire seemed like the better actor knowing that he was juiced up. Sosa seems like he is waiting to get caught. Did love seeing those massive homeruns.

I think the year was 1997, it was when McGwire still played for the A’s. I skipped school that day and went to a day game with some friends. All game long we harassed McGwire. He was playing terrible. Missed a pop fly that bounced off his mitt. Think he struck out a few times if I remember right. I was sitting real close to the field because Tiger Stadium was empty that day. He heard everything we said. Stared at us multiple times that game pissed off.

In what I think was his last at bat. He hit a HR on the roof of Tiger Stadium and stared at me and my friends all the way down trotting to first.

This is a true story. Haha. I was sort of part of baseball history. He shut me and my friends up with that HR, one of the only players ever to hit one out of the Stadium.

McGwire was my favorite player. When he was on the As everyone knew he was on the juice. There’s just no way someone built like a stick bulks up like a defensive end 4 years into their career. But what ruined it was the when the rest of the leauge got in on it. Brady Anderson hit 50 homers in a season out of nowhere - a guy who was lucky to get 20 in a year. So watching the 98 season was bittersweet because I got to see my favorite player smash the record, but I also knew it was a result of PEDs. I stopped following baseball after that for many years. It wasn’t until my son got interested in baseball that I started to follow the sport again. I just hold out hope that all of these stats gurus don’t ruin the sport with their insane views on how it should be played.

SDS

Sammy is the only player to have 3 - 60 hr seasons!! He also didn’t lead the league in any of those 3 seasons, unreal!

SDS

There was a video clip of mark mcgwire hitting a home run in at louis in 1998 and you see a shot of barry bonds with his arms folded with a disgusted look on his face as if to say i know you are cheating but all i see is unconditional love so guess what, im going to start cheating soon. Mlb the show needs to add reggie stocker back and give us 1998 sammy sosa and 1998 mark mcgwire.

If compared to his 97 and beyond look, in the late 80's he was a stick.
