Why So Many Desperate Players?

SDS

Just played a guy with WS banner, Prestige Level 49 who just played the most desperate way possible -- all lefty pitchers, quick pitching, slide stepping, running at every opportunity -- all for an event win. Of course he won thanks to a pitch aimed out of the zone with perfect release to Reggie that magically gravitated dead center and me not getting rewarded on anything despite the ball being right in the middle of the PCI (including Ellsbury with the bases loaded)... but, seriously dude, you needed to win that bad? Obviously he's a guy who can't handle losing at all by the way he plays. So sweaty. And he still needed SDS magic to win. Was it worth all the effort? I just don't see how playing like that is enjoyable at all. If you need to win an event game that bad, may the lord have mercy on your soul, because you must be one pent up and frustrated individual. I'm fine. I'll probably win my next game and my blood pressure didn't raise like yours did from pure desperation.

I hear ya, but you don't sound fine to me.

SDS

Maybe he gets off on tilting people so that they make long butthurt posts after the game.

SDS

Or he wasn't desperate at all and that's just the way he chooses to play the game and does it the same way every time RS/Event/BR. He's got one switch man. All game 7 all the time.

That’s called taking video games too seriously.

SDS

I've found most of the people with a WS banner play this way. It's how they got one. I dont mind losing, but playing these type of players is no fun at all.

SDS

I play like every single game my life is on the line. Imagine not playing this way.

If you are playing a video game likes its game 7 of the world series you have issues that can not be turned on and off with a 'switch'

SDS

So trying to win is a bad thing now? Wow I’ve seen it all lol. I’d rather act like the guy that beat you than act like a butthurt loser who runs to a forum to complain.

RIP BLACK MAMBA

I play to win every game. That’s because I’m a competitive person. Sounds like you just want a participation trophy!!! :’-(

The lefty pitcher thing has been talked about enough on here, but they’re common players, not a big deal.

Quick pitching is not a thing.

Slide stepping is not an advantage to the pitcher. It just makes their pitching way more erratic.

Running can be stopped.

If you don’t want any user input involved in the game there are plenty of modes where you play the CPU. There are plenty of annoying things people do on this game, but this guy doesn’t sound like much of a problem.

SDS

I’ve played so many toxic ws players this event. All lefty pitching, bunt dancing, bunting every time I’m not in bunt defense and constantly stepping off and pick off throws. Let just play someone that wants play straight up.

SDS

Using an eligible player in an event (ie a left handed pitcher in moon shot) is not toxic. Trying to hold runners is also normal strategy.

If you want to play straight up, don’t keep taking extra steps when you’re on base, once your opponent has shown that he is paying attention.

It’s a two way street, man. What is toxic is playing like it is not.

I’m talking about guys that do all of that when I’m not taking leads. I mean guys that just want make it take longer so you might quit out of frustration.
I know when I see strategy. I’m talking about obvious trolling.
