1-2k cards won’t get the job done lol. You can make 150k from the shark map. Don’t try and be cheap in DD
POTM are Player of the Month cards. You have to complete some moments and a few missions and you get usable cards along the way.
Also, check out all the player programs, most are the same, just moments and missions.

I just started playing this game so I need a team that can compete on veteran level at least and unfortunately 17k is all I have. I'm gonna need a team of some skill to finish the map. Has anyone created a map showing where all packs are on the map so I can go right to them before having to play a game?

I'm a madden guy too and been playing this for the last few months. It's pretty easy to build up a really strong competitive team fast compared to Madden. There's so many ways to earn free packs and players on here. Conquest is the quickest way to make stubs. Moments you will be using other teams and players most of the time. Go into player programs and each player will have moments missions to unlock to earn points to unlock the cards... some are super easy and give pretty good players in return.
Go do the one showdown that earns you SS Edwin. Should honestly take about 10-20 minutes as it’s probably the easiest diamond to earn. You’ll have a really nice bat for the start of your squad. You’ll learn that slow and fat is still good at third base as well.
Also, become familiar with the Inning Programs. You won’t be able to complete the older ones without a lot of stubs, BUT, the rewards at the halfway mark are extremely valuable and easily obtainable. It’s the only place you can obtain these certain cards, and people are willing to pay as much as the game will allow because they are needed for other collections like MVP Mike Trout. You won’t be able to get him and time soon lol, but you’ll be able to cash in quite nicely on people who are completing him.
Completing the conquest maps will earn stars for these programs, it’s a win win because you’ll earn stuff along the way, but they also count for something much bigger and conquest is a great way to learn the game while earning a bunch of stuff. We have to like a month for new maps and you can do them all. Just don’t shy away from the early inning maps, the rewards aren’t as good, but doing those help complete the programs, and those cards at the halfway mark of the 1st few programs are through the roof. You can only earn them once, so your pretty much the only type of player that can obtain them and cash in on the 30,000 coin golds.
