Injuries in event game?

I just played a game where my opponents pitcher took a line drive and said corbin suffer a broken nose and need to be take out of the game? Is this a new feature online or only in event games? I dont recall there is injuries in ranked unless they implement it?

It happened to me in a RS game but it is rare.
