Cord Cutting services?

SDS

My free trials of Hulu and YouTube TV have expired. What other cord cutting company gives you the regional Fox Sports channels? I was trying to give them all a shot before I dropped some dead presidents on them.

I have to do a better job keeping up with everything if I'm going to be making investments.

SDS

I like Hulu with live TV the best personally, although it can be quite expensive. If you don’t want to pay for Anything you can always use MLB streams on reddit or something of the sort

SDS

I have MLB TV and love it, can watch every game and they're all archived and condensed as well.

Yeah but you living overseas means you aren’t subject to blackout restrictions. I have MLB TV as well, but where I live The Tigers, Indians, Pirates, and Reds are all blacked out, so thats what reddit streams are for lmao

Oh yeah that's right, I hadn't thought about that. I never really understood the purpose of those blackouts, aren't they meant to motivate you to go to a ballgame in person? And if that's the case, how in the world can you attend all those games not just from a financial perspective but also from a geographical and time perspective?

True, but a VPN service fixes that problem.

They are meant to motivate you to go to games in person, yes. But also I think its to get the local TV networks more watch time and money. I’m not 100% sure how the MLB TV revenue sharing works but I can imagine the Yankees and Dodgers get more watch time through MLB TV than the pirates, Brewers, or Royals do

If you want to stay on top of things and watch tons of baseball, MLB Network gives you that.
Lots of games, great analysis and an "NFL Redzone" like show MLB Tonight, where they jump from game to game depending on the situation.

Essentially each MLB team negotiates their own broadcasting rights, MLB doesn't have a full time national broadcast deal like the NFL for example. Because those broadcasting rights are regionalized the networks blackout broadcasts of the games if you live in the area of the network. It's simply to get as many people to pay to view the game where the network that owns the broadcasting rights gets paid.

Instead of blackouts, put your regional broadcaster’s ad on MLB.TV. Problem solved. Blackouts do more harm than good, as it irritates the consumer instead of motivating them to attend in person.

SDS

Blackouts suck. The Jays were waving the blackout on MLB.tv for a few years, which was nice, but i think they brought it back this year.

Scroll down and if you're using Chrome or Firefox you'll see a typical video window. No redirects, no pop-up ads (that I've experienced).

Anyway, here's Wonderwall

SDS

I have AT&T Now and love it. I signed up as soon as it was available and get an early adopter discount for life.

It’s essentially DirecTV for half the cost. MLBN and regional sports without blackouts. Local channels and news networks. Fox News if you’re in the mood for propaganda.
