Pitch speed and matchup connection

SDS

If you’re playing an away game against someone with a slower connection, does this change perceived pitch speed? Because I normally have a quick bat, but I absolutely could not touch Nolan Ryan fastballs in my last game. So after the game, I set sliders all the way up and custom practiced against Ryan and was timing his fastballs up perfectly and sometimes even early. Anyone have any info on this? Should I just start waiting for matchups where I’m the home team?

I think you’re probably right to a certain extent. Especially if your lagging because of the host connection. In this hame the host is always the home team. Problem is the server is supposed to find the person with the best connection to host the game but if you have a guy who uses the host glitch and their connection is trash then there isn’t much you can do about it other than quit and find a new opponent.

Before I upgraded my internet, I blew fb by people almost every game. I think it was bc my upload speed was so bad. Since the upgrade, pitching is definitely harder. But hitting is easier. I think that's why you hear so many guys say I can't hit, but my pitching keeps me in games. They have bad connections - so hitting is more difficult for both players

I don't know if it is because I also upgraded my service or because pitching sucks or what but I am getting rock buy most of my opponents.

Being home or away doesn’t really have anything to do with it. It’s just connection quality.

Really, the best way to find a high quality connection game is to be the away team and find one with minimal lag at the lineup screen

100% true. Its a hustle but it pays off.

Hitting seems off the last week or so.

That's kind of what I do. I test the lag at the pitcher or lineup screen. If I'm the home team or if there isn't much la I play. If there is a lot of lag, I back out and try again. I don't mind being the road team, but I want to avoid laggy game play and DC losses

Good points all

Only reason I avoid away games in RS is because in 2020 people still don't know MLB stadiums suck.

I'd rather play all my games on a neutral field (Dale Palm) than risk Wrigley or god forbid Fenway during the day.
