Is there a way to keep your second baseman from vacating his position on a steal when you have no intention of throwing to second? Example game is tied in the bottom of third (events game). Two outs runner on third. He has a weak hitter on deck so I intentionally walk the batter. I know a steal is coming but want to keep my fielder in position for a bunt or weak hit to the right side. He steals, My fielder goes to cover second vacating the entire right side and a check swing weak hit rolls right through the vacated hole to end the game. Anyone know how I keep the fielder from leaving his position?

Not sure if thats possible or not, but it would be a good option to have on the rare occasion you you want to. Just a "concede steal" option in defensive positioning or something like that.
So there is no solution?????

Pitch out
The only time in this game I have seen a 2nd baseman not cover the bag on a steal was when I was up by 7 runs in the bottom of the last inning and that was all the CPU. I'm not aware of anyway to do this.
I believe the only solution is to bend over and take it.
