I see this RNG mentioned all the time on this forum, mostly for n the context of someone crying about losing to someone they feel they should have beat. What is the definition of RNG? and is it actually present in the gameplay or is just a conspiracy theory people cling to when the don’t want to accept responsibility for a bad result?
Random Number Generator.
The implication is that users are being cheated out of games because skill is devalued over the CPU randomly picking winners and losers.
Random Number Generation. It does exist yes, it’s part of games. People do use as an excuse for their poor results however.
It’s basically attached to every part of every game ever made. It’s the chances of anything happening. From pulling Trout to hitting a HR with him.
It’s also used to help create a functioning AI or CPU. Without RNG pitchers would throw the exact same sequence again and again the same way enemies in goldeneye started in the same spot, or Mario levels never change.
When people refer to getting cheated they are talking about something completely different and don’t have a clue lol.
