Need a Good Hitter These Teams...

SDS

I'm trying to get a good hitter for each team so that I can grind team affinity programs. Some of them I can't afford due to them costing stubs in the hundreds of thousands, so I can't touch them.

I plan to get the 99 MVP Yelich from doing conquest extreme.

I need a good hitter from the following:

  • Rays
  • Blue Jays (I can't afford Donaldson)
  • White Sox (Can't afford Big Hurt)
  • Royals
  • Twins
  • Angels (can't afford Trout or Guerrero)
  • Athletics (can't afford Henderson)
  • Mariners
  • Rangers (I picked Cobb instead of Pudge)
  • Astros
  • Braves
  • Marlins*
  • Mets (can't afford Piazza or Carter)
  • Phillies
  • Cubs
  • Reds (no way I can touch Bench)
  • Cardinals (besides Musial and Hornsby)
  • Diamondbacks
  • Rockies (can't afford Walker)
  • Dodgers (besides Lightning/MA Belli)
  • Padres (besides Lightning Tatis Jr.)

Thanks!

Thanks. Problem is that a lot of those FOTFs are earned late in the TA programs, and I'm still towards the beginning of all of them.

SDS

Yes I realize that, there's still some great players among the prospects in the TA's though (Jazz Chisholm for instance) and some of the early FOTF are great too as I mentioned earlier (Jose Abreu FOTF rakes)

If you have the stubs, you can purchase them and then when you get them later through the TA process, you can sell them on the market.

SDS

Very good point, and most are going for 30k or less

SDS

For the Cards I recommend Topps Brad Miller.

You buy them now to grind the missions, then you sell the one you receive. That said, it’s not the most time effective method to progress through TA. You’d be better served either buying cards for exchanges or playing the showdowns.

Play with the math and see how much it would really cost you to do exchanges, I was doing them for around 6k per level, which is 19 exchanges from 0% to 100%, so say 114k. Sounds a lot, but when you then factor in the stubs, packs and cards (don’t forget you can also collect the 30 FOTF in legends and flashbacks that are unsellable towards Trout and get more stubs back), it comes down by a fair bit, more so if you can get a lucky pull or two in your packs.

This is the fastest way to progress team affinity, but If this doesn’t appeal to you very much, showdown is the way to go. It’s absolutely going to be more time consuming, but you will progress TA and make stubs and XP at the same time. It’s really not difficult to get your stubs back at a bare minimum and will turn you a good profit if you stick with it. Time sink though.

A lot of those teams have some really good Topps Now cards that you can get for free or cheap on the market.
