Alex Cora is back!

SDS

The Red Sox have officially hired Alex Cora as their new manager. Questionable? Yes. Interesting? Yes. Surprising? No.

Hopefully the Mets do the right thing and bring back Beltran!

SDS

He gets his job back but Pete rose is still banned? That almost as bad as Edward Snowden still banned from the USA.

Wasnt Beltran the mastermind of the cheating scandal? the instigator? He shouldn't work in MLB again.

What? He is the one that came to Houston and said "you guys are way behind in the sign stealing, all the others have way more advanced systems then you, especially where I just came from." And between him and Cora they came up with a system, along with some other camera guys and stuff i am sure, and what happened happened. The reason AJ Hinch wanted to stop throughout the season is because he was an analytics guy who saw the numbers, when they were using Beltran/Cora system at home, werent as good as their road numbers when they werent using it. And if you look at the good sample size of the season they prove that it wasnt as effective. Also the reason why they said they started 2018 doing this as well but quickly abandoned it because of ineffectiveness. And this time without Cora or Beltran there AJ Hinch met no resistance. And they went on to post a franchise best W/L record that year and again in 2019.

There are some very good, factual, reads you can find on this stuff. That uses actually testimony and proof. Do we know the whole story 100 percent? No way. But most stuff shows Astros were much better off not using this "cheating" system of sign stealing, but most blind anti fans dont want facts. So the Astros only hurt themselves by doing this. But it was more of a certain players thing, that arent true Astros in history anyways that implemented this not the organization. Organization is to blame for not stopping these players though. The younger players 100 percent couldnt do anything to stop it. They didnt have that power. Someone else should have stepped in. Especially once they saw the numbers and that it wasnt worth it.

Just shows no surprise the Astros were 1 win from WS again with this crappy team they ran out there this year. If they had the studs they had the past couple seasons we might have had one hell of a Dodgers/Astros rematch.

SDS

Free Pete Rose! MLB is openly supportive of cheaters at this point, and what Pete did was far less egregious than what the Red Sox and Astros did, time to let the all time hits leader into the hall of fame.

You understand what a scapegoat is right? Everything is blamed on Beltran and Cora because they were guys that weren't longtime Astros and were no longer with the team when everything came out so they were easy to throw under the bus. Im not saying they had nothing to do with it, im just saying acting like they were some sort of evil masterminds that noone could speak up to is ridiculous.

They were involved in the investigation as well. it isnt like everyone is pointing the finger at them, they arent the scapegoats. They told their part of the story too. The Astros are the ones taking the blows. Hell over half the team from that year is no longer there and those players get hardly any negative attention. Both Cora and Beltran got off pretty much Scott free.

@Ikasnu

Here's my thing, if Cora and Beltran were still playing they would have no punishment like the rest of the players but now that they are in front office positions they get screwed, especially Beltran. To me everyone should either equally get punished or not punished, since the players still playing werent punished(which I dont agree with) I feel like its only fair to allow Beltran and Cora to continue to seek employment in MLB.

SDS

Nope. Should be banned for life.

Personally I disagree but thats just my opinion. I'm not gonna get mad at anyone or tell them they are wrong for thinking differently on something like this because its a very touchy subject.

And they can and have. They got nothing. Cora got a 1 year ban and Beltran lost a potential job to what they thought could be a ban incoming but since he was a player it didnt. But they are free to do whatever they want in MLB.

And why punish the students equally as the teachers? In the end it is a worse punishment for the young players that were taught this stuff than the coaches and elder team leaders. Elder team leaders retired, coaches a 1 year ban in a 60 game 2 Motnh season lol. Players would have taken that punishment anyday over what they deal with now. I guarantee it.
