You only need 1 great starting pitcher if you play Conquest

They have said several times already that not only can you choose your starting pitcher in DD this year but, for offline modes, there is no energy to worry about so that you can continually use the same pitcher if you want.

I can see how that could be nice if you only have 1 good SP, but to me it'll get super boring to use the same guy over and over and over again.

You sure pitcher roulette is gone completely? When they were talking about this, I got the impression that it was only gone for online modes only since offline modes don't use the energy depletion. I actually wish they would as it would add a whole new element of strategy to the game.

Yeah, I will still try to get 5 good ones but if you want to get one early and then work on programs and use stubs for offense before you fill out the rotation then that should work as a valid approach.

They have said several times in todays stream that it is gone with the exception of some very specific Moments missions.

I don't care how good Kershaw was last year, It wasn't fun getting him 17 games in a row

Gotcha (I tuned in, but with sound off so I could get my packs 🙂 ). I guess we can see how that plays out tomorrow, but it would make it easier to complete the team specific innings missions.

If you want to use the same guy over and over again, that’s on you. I’ll use a guy for a couple games, use another guy a couple games, and mix it up all the time. Was super pumped when they said that.

Plus, it’s great for friendly games too.

Yup, that is what I heard. And with 3 inning games, You just pitch your best pitcher each inning. For conquest starting off with same starter each time is fine.

What I am curious about is how the CPU pitcher is selected.
