Showdown Post-patch

SDS

This sounds absolutely miserable, you didn’t get awarded for most of your solid contact anyways and now it’s just gonna be harder to get in the first place.

SDS

So far it is. I used to cruise through the first 6 or 7 challenges, but now Nola is nearly impossible to get hits off of, and I can't even get on base against Syndergaard

I was skipping to Verlander every time in the AL West but 16 runs a game isnt gonna be an option anymore.

SDS

Yea this sucks. I’m happy I beat the AL central one at like 2am last night before this patch. I’m working on it again after not failing any of the missions yesterday and have just failed 2 in a row after the first elimination. Why is the PCI so small on veteran??

SDS

I couldn't beat it before the patch, no way I am going to bother now.

SDS

I feel like the timing window is screwed to [censored]. I never had a problem with timing the first week everything I smash now goes foul bc it says I’m early so frustrating hitting foul ball HR after foul ball HR when I wasn’t having this problem yesterday.

SDS

I think they saw how people were 'exploiting' it and unlocking the FOTF cards extremely fast.

So they 'adjusted' the difficulty.

They did the same thing last year (adjusting something that was exploited) when people were hitting 600 Stars in a matter of days.

And dont get me started on the whole 'play vs CPU for days' fiasco right before new innings were dropped.

I dont believe in ' conspiracy theories' and I like how some users post videos showing ways to earn rewards; but I think that is why hitting was adjusted.

Back, I forgot about the maintenance last night and ended up getting kicked, on my final game, for the Granderson 14 H 6 XB moment. When I was kicked, I was one hit away

I had to restart it this morning and I've attempted it twice so far; getting a grand total of SIX hits in 18 games. Thats BS.

SDS

Just did a showdown against Scherzer, and he threw 10 straight pitches in the middle of the plate, all 10 were outs, with good/squared up

EDIT: PERFECT PERFECT FLYBALL FROM VLAD WENT 50 SHORT OF THE WALL LMAOOOOO

SDS

Knock on wood, but i’ve been hitting just as good. Although some of my good goods or good squared ups have just been hit straight at the center fielder, i’ve not had a problem. i’ve had a lot of success using power swings too

I’ve been in the middle of playing all the conquest strongholds on veteran the past 2 days and it’s night and day difference. I was scoring 10-15 on average and now I’ve scored 1 and 3 my first 2 games on.

Yep I got kicked while beating the Nationals 9-0 in the first for their stronghold. Just played them again and won 1-0 off a leadoff triple and 9 straight hard hit outs.

I’m about 20 stronghold games in, and haven’t played after patch but usually i would just score 2 or 3 and bunt the rest cause the cpu wasn’t gonna score on kirby yates lol. But, perhaps you’re right. Perhaps i’m just good hahaha

This was the exact impression that I had as well. I haven't had the opportunity to play any other game modes today, but do you know if hitting feels this way with Conquest or RS?

Maybe my criticisms can be contained to just Showdown if that is the case.

I can confirm that hitting in conquest also feels like garbage.

SDS

Sorry, just saw your earlier response right after I submitted. That... sucks.

EDIT: I think we need to start doing the math on what is fair here regarding the expectations for hitting. Between having a realistic average and having to overcome a 5 - 11 run deficit with only 20 outs to spare.

This is common in Showdown it’s rigged as hell.

lol showdown is a JOKE

SDS really turned the sliders way too hard

they have 0 consistency in their game playing modes - don't call it veteran if it plays like Legend on Steroids

really poor execution on the gaming devs end

Oh that's what's happening. I thought I was just getting empty quoted but you put your post in the quote box lmao

I don't think it's possible to have realistic stat lines across the board. You can have the best of the best hitting .450-.500 while 95% of the userbase is closer to .280, orvyou can nerf hitting so nobody hits .450 but the bottom 30 to 40% will be in the .100s and that's not "realistic" either.

SDS

@ImDFC yeah my bad man lol.
