Content is always good, but when early, red zone swings on pitches low and away result in no-doubt pulled bombs and good timing/center PCI balls have exit velo's of 85-90mph and float to the OF....the game is not playing well.
Glad you're having fun with it though.

Is this real thing? Played a guy with all golds and I have 99s everywhere and he hits all homers to win the game and I have to claw to get enough runs to keep up.
I don't know if it is actually real, but I can swear it feels like it exists.
Games where you strike out the other guy like 16x, they look lost at the plate but manage to get a one or 2 early swing HRs late in the game while on the other side good timing/contact has terrible exit velos and launch angles.
I've had games where easy playable grounders get past my IFs or bloop singles on very late swings happen and you can predict a forced hanger next pitch or 2 will result in a 2 run shot.
I think Allstar is just not a very good difficulty when it comes to balance...
@Harrisville318 said in Perfect release missing spots?:
Are perfect releases suppose to hit the spot or is just a random chance like the rest of the game?
@ryansitko11 said in Perfect release missing spots?:
Just random chance. SDS doesn't reward user input
Pretty much. Nothing says rewarding like grooving an 0-2 pitch for a HR on perfect release/input. I'm all for card stats mattering but the amount of override is ridiculous.
@PhillyRunt44 said in Sig series Chapman?:
Looking at him on the market right now. I've always wanted to try him but my question is is it worth paying that kind of stubs for a reliever when I'm playing on all star? Pitching on AS has been a cluster so I feel like it's an overpay for someone who wont play every game and will probably be erratic because of the pitching on the game. Thoughts?
If you're stuck in the 400-600s, you're probably better off using LS Chapman and using the stubs to boost your team elsewhere.
If you're fully happy with your team and don't want/can't improve it anymore....then why not spend it upgrading the pen.

Always has been terribly random. I've always enjoyed going into a sim up like 53-10 and losing 30+ fans to take the one tile.

Welcome to the internet. First time?
Completely agree btw.
On the plus side it will let you use cards that are terrible fielders without worry of them costing you runs and it allows you to not have to choose between say a personal favorite or a card with slightly better stats. I know I come across the latter quite a bit at almost any position.
On the downside, it takes out the only remaining "managerial" skill decision left. They already removed injuries to non-pitchers removing any reason to think about bench construction/roles.
@dbarmonstar said in Why should I get mantle:
i I have one card left to get and then I will have Mantle. I did not rush to get him, i should have him by the end of this upcoming weekend. I been able to use the Mantle Card in stage 3 showdowns, be far the best card in the game. Stubs are easy to get back
I got him yesterday. Rough start in his first game but I'm sure he'll settle in for me.
To OP: The reason to get mantle is like most people said, he's the best card in the game. 5 tool player that is also a switch hitter. But ultimately it is personal preference. If you can find a non-Mantle lineup that you do well with, spend your stubs elsewhere.
If nothing else, completing collections (As also mentioned earlier) will add any number of card types to use towards the big collection reward which is coming out soon. In previous years you needed a certain amount of Sig, Rookie, Allstar, Vet, Breakouts etc....this year likely include the need for Awards and Prime cards as well.
I'm fairly confident they won't require a HRD/POTM/Player league cards for this but you never know.
Uh...POTM Didi probably? Feels like the guy does nothing but hit tanks.
Only used as a pinch hitter in event so far (using event for mission grinding/prestige etc) but HRD Cano been solid so far as well.

For what its worth, and apologies if I inferred this incorrectly, but your original post said "If you read all the other posts you'd know you can't exchange them" which comes off as incredibly condescending, instead of just saying it doesn't work.
Nothing lazy about reading the first page. I just check every so often and if there is a topic that seems interesting, I'll check. This is the first one I clicked on about no-sell players. Only search deeper if I'm looking for a specific answer.
Anyway, that is all. Have a good day.

Likely this. I don't think anyone has every debuted and gone Diamond in the same year. He may start high gold/low diamond next year but unless SDS throws their precedents into the trash then I think he sits 83 or 84.

Yeah, go to your MLB20 dashboard ---> Shop and buy pack (for free). It should be around for more than a few mins so no need to rush.
Uh....I'd contemplate: Jackie Yelich Trout Ruth Tatis McGriff Castellanos Posey
But I'd say move certain guys around if you dont care about alternating handiness and place your better hitters up top. Like if you hit better with Tatis instead of Jackie....Put Tatis 1, and Jackie 8 or 9 to add speed for when the top of the order comes up like below. Sometimes its better to put the guys you do well with in better spots rather than looking at attributes/overalls:
Tatis Yelich Trout Ruth Castellanos McGriff Posey P Jackie (or put P 9th)

So All Star and 6 Innings. 96 max so stacked rosters but 6 innings is an unexpected wrinkle. Hopefully stamina reflects that as otherwise we'll be burning thru pitchers.
6 innings has usually come with quick counts. I won't be on until later so no idea.
No quick counts makes this a huge bummer though.
Either way its a good for some of us to work on prestige's for Trout exchange if we haven't done them.

Depending on the Diamond, wouldn't it be more cost efficient to quick sell the low ones (like 85-87ish) and use those stubs to by a bunch of 1k-ish golds at 83-84 overall? The point exchange difference between high gold and low diamond is small.
EDIT: And I think either TA3 was too early or TA4 is too late. It was Launch/spring/summer/Fall so I would have expected TA2 around May TA3 around July and TA4 in September when the season is ending. Feel like TA4 is just late.
I picked Mo. Sold him as I was still working toward Mantle.
Eventually got him back like a month later. Finally bought Walker like 2 weeks after that.
Was sad I waited this long to get Walker. He is a God among men and probably my best hitter. That man will never leave my lineup along with Mantle. All other OF options at this point are a waste to me or bench bats.

While possible, it matters on the type of hits, not the quantity. You may have 15 hits but are they good/goods or better or are you benefiting from late/early bloopers/bombs. I have definitely seen hits I don't deserve and I've seen probably 10x the number of poor results that make no sense on great user input (slight exaggeration). I had a game yesterday where I hit 2 HRs with Mantle, good timing but PCI's inner circle was completely off the ball....no way I should have had those. Other games I've had good timing, squared up PCI and hit a 45 degree launch angle with 85 exit velo which also makes no sense on guys with 100+ power. So there might not really be comeback logic per se, but there is definitely a lot of cases I've seen where players who shouldn't be getting rewarded on their swings coming out on top because of situations like I just noted. At least on Allstar, this game rewards you for not being good. And I can admit I have been the beneficiary of a number of early swing hrs. I feel like I'm getting the PCI centered on some of these but it shows I'm missing low. I hit a few slight early/late middled PCI's that were weak contact.. I'm wondering if what I'm seeing on my end live isn't what's actually happening sometimes. Is this possible? I'm not an expert on this by any means.

I mean, its always possible. But as has been mentioned in the past...if feedback is accurate, why bother having it at all? My PCI often feels like its in spots it shouldn't be. I have a lot of PCI left dead center and I know I'm far too twitchy to leave it center mostly so I think it just doesn't register correctly sometimes.
I also don't use monitor which probably has an effect on my PCI input and explains why I'm sometimes "late" on 93 mph sinkers.
I think this goes back to SDS' terrible description of the PCI and what it does because my issues come with me centering-ish a ball and hitting a 45 degree launch angle for a shallow fly, or hitting it off the end of the bat and still sending it 250 feet to be caught by the OF instead of dropping for a hit.
Mantle is a lock for pretty much everyone. I'm still using Sheffield as well.
Sheffields issue is his defense. There are so many OF options that he becomes expendable there. Depending on who your 3B is, you might have better options than him.
Biggio is the most expendable. There have been a few really good 2B available (HRD Cano, Hornsby) that make him less useful and I use a CAP at catcher so his secondary position isnt that big of a boon (except for events). They also just released awards Piazza too which will further lessen his value.
I dont even have Biggio on the bench right now. Awards Cruz and Frank Thomas are my righty bench bats...plus prestige Chipper hits better from the right side. Other 2 spots go to lefties.
Ballin packs and headliners are absolute trash for me this year. 1 Diamond out of what has to be 70+ BIAH packs and 0 headliners (mostly free ones from conquest/event).
Standard singles from program rewards seem to be my main ones but may just be quantity based. Twitch Drops = 2 or 3 diamonds including Trout.
@Ryan_2713 said in 12 win rewards in events are meaningless now:
when I got to 45 wins he was selling for over 90k. what you want is all the rewards along the program which included a chance at elite DOTP, 2 cards that could sell over 100k combined depending on when you reached 45 wins, plus you want better diamonds. all of this for spending nothing to enter the event. that's petty
That is the only "benefit" of going 12-0 (or 12-1) is that you can obtain rewards faster. But really at the same time, you could also only get 6 wins a ticket and still probably get there around the same time and make the same amount of stubs if you play a lot.
I bought him for 63.5K (I'm only at 22 wins in the event) the day before stub sale just incase. I've had no motivation to continue to playing the event to be honest (think I've got burnout from events from getting to about 75 wins on the last one).
No one is calling event rewards petty, its the 12-0 motivation that is unrewarding. You'd be better off rattling off like 4 to 6 wins, forfeit and rejoin to get matched with lower rated guys for easier wins. Biggest detriment to that method is the fact they don't save your previous event lineup (Seriously SDS....how is this not a thing?)
