RE: If you have Ruth, or are close..

Honestly tho I have the MLB hof ones done and the AL done , doing the NL today , I’m about 8-12 hours playing time deep. Haven’t lost yet

Funny how some people can call grinding 12 hours in one day easy or not too bad. I'm jealous because I'm lucky if I get 12 hours in a week. LoL... if i played moments for 12 hours in a single day my brain would literally leak out of my ears.

Nope... the biggest issue is the servers are garbage. This is by far the worst lag game I've ever played.

RE: Can we make the top cards actually difficult to get?

This is in any game... people want to use the best cards, kinda makes sense. Mantle and Ruth were a grind... I dont have either of them. The guys who spent all that time grinding them deserve them for their time invested. You sound like one those guys that sit home 8 hours a day and play videogames, because time isn't easy to spare for everybody... Ruth was 12 hours of moments.... anybody who played 12 hours of that is committed to the grind 100%. I couldn't spend that kinda time playing mindless moments for Ruth. It might be EASY for you, but for some sitting home grinding is impossible.

RE: I dont understand the NMS flex.

I always laughed at those NMS brag threads... So your saying it is more noble to play videogames 6 hours a day grinding out a great team than going to work and having money to waste instead of precious time? I spend money... because I enjoy the game and I value time way more than money. I would rather waste $50 than spend 4 hours grinding anyday.

Probably gonna be a good looking card but the thing about Chapman is he is always easy to hit in game. His delivery is very easy to pick up.

That's weird you say that... His cards were lights out for me last year. His silver card in BR was just nasty... I have always had good results with Chapman.

RE: 2 preset lineups vs LHP\RHP

It should be you have a locked in roster and can make your LHP lineup and your RHP lineups however you want with that same roster. They should also make DH in American league parks like real baseball then you would have 4 lineups to set. I get why they have it the way it is, but it's more fun to me the more like real baseball it is.

    RE: Power ups like Madden??????????

Nah... I'm a mut (Madden) guy that's been playing mut since before power ups started. It's just another way to suck up your coins and it doesn't even work how you say it does... In MUT there are no players at 99 4 months in like this game. I like the card collecting concept here and liked mut much more before power ups. This year mut introduced x-factors and abilities that imo ruined the H2H experience. You can buy abilities with training and they are great for less skilled players because they require no skill to use... There are ones like mossed... which is you basically throw it up 50+ yards to your receiver and he will still catch it in triple coverage. There are ones that guarantee broken tackles, guarantee picks. These are all part of mut power ups. I don't like any automatics in a competitive game... They are just bailouts for players without actual skill that can win them games that they have no business winning. MUT is a mess this year and hate to see this game going down that same road. This years Madden championship was won by a guy who stacked all his abilities into running game and he won the whole tournament without calling a single passing play and had a punter at QB... that's absolute [censored] imo. No thanks... I like to play the show as a break from the cheese and stress mut can cause.

    RE: Is there any game

Yes... I'm actually a Madden player that uses this game as a break from the stress Madden can cause. This game is relaxing for me compared to Madden Ultimate Team. The cheese in Madden is so common now in H2H that unless you cheese yourself, you aren't winning on a high level. The guy that just won the Madden championship won the whole tourney without calling a single pass play... that would be like someone winning the biggest open tourney in the show only bunting.

I think this is the easiest one yet... Pitching challenges are so much easier to beat than hitting.

Cant blame you for going to mut... I did the same. As much as I love baseball and 90% of the game itself.... I just cant grind and play a game that has such a bad H2H experience. Between lag and terrible inconsistency, the H2H for this game is a joke. It's too bad because this game has a lot going for it... maybe next year they will at least fix their servers or find a way make it consistent.

Please check back in and let us know how great Maddens H2H experience is. I would say within a week or two ebooks will be out and the glitches will be exposed.

Thats a no for me dog.

Madden didn't lag as bad as this game even 10 years ago. I dont need a monitor to be good at Madden and have had zero issues with lag in H2H. I love this game... just want to play H2H that actually works and plays fair. As far as ebooks and glitches... the game is a lot different this year already... glitch blitzes dont work anymore and spamming same plays hasn't either. The thing I've learned about ebook guys is they arent very good at the game once you stop their couple glitch plays. Been playing Madden since super Nintendo and always end the year with a good H2H record. This game, even the best players alive will lose to sub .500 players in RS at times because the game is inconsistent. I stink and I beat people with way better records than me one game and next lose to someone less than me... good luck beating a top Madden player if your a casual sub .500 player... it won't happen. I really hope they fix H2H someday in the show, because I really like the game other than H2H.

This game mode is fun and has a lot going for it... but the H2H experience is an absolute joke. I hope H2H gets better next year, because the game could be great if the H2H end of it was better.

@PScrabro said in Why give games to newbies:

It's working in your favor just as much as against you. Nobody ever complains they win games that swung in their favor for no reason... because when it helps you, it's your skill. There's definitely some type of manipulation in this game, but it's clear to me it works both ways. It doesn't prevent you from wins... it only makes it more challenging. If it only prevents wins to good players, why are the same guys always at the top? Is it because they get free wins because they are TERRIBLE? True story... if your losing to terrible players consistently, you aren't very good.... because I'm not very good and I can overcome RNG versus a terrible player. I always laugh at the guys who believe the game is only out to get them, because of their high skill level.

What you just wrote is probably correct. I win as much as I lose. Perhaps a little above .500. But, letting the game dictate whose turn it is to win isn't fun is it?

I mean, for argument sake, let's say the code steers the wins/losses, but attempts to create parity. Where is the fun in that?

The attraction of this game, any game as far as that goes, is the satisfaction of knowing you won/lost because you're better/worse.

Not because the software is working behind the scenes to create an animation that rewards some games...screws you other games.

IF you're worse and need to work on things you do that...spend your hours..get better. In real life you are rewarded with practice and time spent. But, not in this game and it's horribly frustrating.

That's not what competition is about.

I definitely dont like it or enjoy parity manipulation, DDA, RNG or whatever it is called... but I'm realistic and understand it works both ways. It's just funny to never see the post about RNG helping somebody win... and everyone of us recognizes those games.

    RE: Why so many crybabies?

I actually feel sorry for these types of guys. Anybody who throws a fit over a video game and needs to harass somebody who beat them has a very empty sad life. I'm a Madden guy... I've heard it all there after games. This community is like a bunch of happy go lucky nuns compared to the Madden community.... that's gotta be the worst gaming community there is. Go browse that forum and see some real peaches there.

    RE: Swing Timing in RS

I have had the same issue in RS. It's like every third game the fastball is coming in at 125mph. In these games it is nearly impossible to hit a high velocity fastball. I have had games where I swing as soon as the pitcher releases and I'm still late. The servers on this game or whatever must be terrible... I play this about 3 months a year and Madden about 9 months a year and I have NEVER had issues with Madden lagging affecting gameplay. This year I got the beta and I played 1 BR game and the lag was so bad in that game, I never touched it again. This game would probably be able to keep me away from Madden if H2H wasnt so bad. I like H2H mostly and this game is awesome except H2H lag is ridiculous... I feel like I'm playing online in 1997 with this game. I know it's not my internet because the show is the ONLY thing that I have ever had issues with.

You get pitcher recommendations on All-star? I haven't gotten them on any of my all timers games.
