I don't understand why you're still here complaining, it's February my dude. We know the game isn't good by now, accept it and move on. Try again next year, or not like you say, either way what's the point of going on and on and on about the same issues that clearly aren't changing?

This is impossible for normal human being. The easiest one is 10 times harder than kenley moment or final match in previous moments set. I guess I have to buy 95 Gossage again.
You gotta approach it with a different mindset, one that says "oh okay, these are tough but not at all impossible and I'm gonna slowly but surely complete them".
You'll find that they aren't impossible at all. If you need tips on particular moments, let me know and I'll try and help you best as I can.
It’s nice to see that people willing to help are on this forum too. I have to say that I overreacted. I tried those moments and I am 4/7 missing only Green and Yelich moments (I was so close many times, I just need little bit of luck) and then the last game of course. I will have to practice a lot to get it done. I am quite good at pitching but those 5 homeruns are problem. The most I had was 2. It’s the first time I played on legend and to be honest I don’t think I would be able to hit 5 bombs even on hall of fame difficulty. Well well.. for the first time I will go to practice mode this year
Here's a tip for hitting on legend: take as many pitches as you can and wait for the pitch over the heart of the plate. It will come so be patient and make them throw lots of pitches to get that energy and confidence down asap. Good luck!
Well I tried Green and Yelich moments yesterday and finished them both in about 30 minutes. Today I tried the last game for a second time and won 10:0, 15 hits, 4 HRs. I was somehow happy with this result because I finally feel like I have a chance. I am quite surprised that I wasn’t mad.
Thanks for your advice for my hitting but that’s exactly my biggest issue all year. I can’t hit pitches down the middle. I start with my PCI up and every time I overreact pushing my PCI down to the dirt and poping up. I think I have to change my thumb placement on the left stick.
Anyway I will try it once per day and I believe I will complete it in the next few months. I will not buy mlb 20, time is not a problem for me
This thread is like a therapy for me
You'll get it eventually man. I used to start the PCI up and in as well and I would react on everything from there. But in recent years I got more success just keeping it dead center and adjust from there. It actually sped up my bat speed and it prevented me from over adjusting silimar to what you say you do. Give it a try man.
…it would be to not have to face anyone who cheeses to win. I’m talking constantly stealing (and even when you pitch out he still makes it back to first safe), rundown cheese, slide-stepping (when it would be illogical to do so; ie. bases empty), spamming high sinkers, knuckleball cheese, etc. It’s really a shame people choose to play this way.
I can’t think of any sort of way to regulate this stuff because unfortunately it’s just part of the game. But man, I wish I didn’t have to deal with this [censored].
I agree on the stealing and run down cheese, but there is nothing wrong with slide stepping even with empty bases. It keeps your opponent's timing honest and it's a legitimate move. In fact it might bite the slide stepper in the behind because you lose a ton of accuracy and the chances of throwing it down the middle for a meatball increase big time. I don't mind if you slide step all game, I will make you pay for it.
Also hitting high sinkers is something you can practice and get better at. Approach it from this perspective; if someone throws you a high sinker and you crush it, you also crush his soul. That's how to make them stop throwing it. Same goes for knuckleballs, yes they are incredibly hard to hit. But you can practice on it and if you hit a few balls hard against a knuckleballer, chances are they'll pull him out of the game.
Check swinging worked fine in previous years, where if you just tapped the button it would check swing and if you firmly pressed it, it would swing. It's kinda hard to explain, but I'm sure you understand what I mean by this. It's a feeling you develop.
This is the first year where check swinging is broken and seems random, so it would make much more sense to reverse whatever it is they changed when it comes to the check swing mechanics.
It's not been like this (tap = checkswing, firm press = swing) for quite a few years. From 17 and possibly earlier it would seem random which make me think that it varies depending on the player's plate discipline. Caveat: referring to offline play in Franchise and Conquest; not sure about online.
What you say is correct, the plate discipline stat does impact the ability to successfully check swing. I personally haven't had issues with it in previous years, nor do a lot of people I know and play this game a lot. This is the first year we all agree it feels out of sync and random.
Either way, OPs suggestion doesn't sound like the solution to me based on the input arguments I made earlier.
You're completely wrong.
I strictly play online DD RS. Considering that you strictly play offline against the CPU, I wouldn't expect you to understand. Hitting playing offline vs. online is like night and day. Check swinging issue happens regardless who the player is or what his discipline attribute is. For example, 99 Bellinger is maxed out at 125 discipline stat and still often swings through on check swings. It happens often online no matter the discipline attribute level or the player.
Furthermore, your point of adding an extra layer being overkill and backfiring is pointless. Overkill, huh? If the concept is that complicating to you, then you could keep the way things are, nothing would change. However, if it were available, it would just give an added option for those of us who would prefer having a little bit more control of the check swinging aspect as opposed to the total randomness. It's sort of like faking a shot vs. taking the shot in hockey, or doing a pump fake vs. taking the shot in basketball....same concept, just applied to baseball.
You're wrong, I don't just play offline. I assume you checked my game history, but what you should really do is search my username on the lifetime leaderboards. My Ranked Seasons record is 115-35, my BR record is something like 860-260. You can look it up if you don't believe me.
Either way, I just gave you my opinion on your suggestion. No need to be all hateful and making wrong assumptions about how I play this game. I just don't like your idea for reasons I stated, that is all.
The shield underneath the fielder only represents 1 attribute which is fielding. The shield on the player card is an accumulation of all fielding stats, including reaction and I think also arm strength/accuracy. Not sure about the arm, but I'm sure about the fielding + reaction. So if a guy has 79 fielding and 99 reaction, chances are his shield on the player card is gold or maybe even diamond, but the shield during gameplay is only a silver because it only represents that fielding attribute without the reaction attribute.
Ketel Marte has 79 fielding and that's why his shield during the game is silver.
You wanna look for guys who have great pitch repertoires and are hard to pick up the delivery. Great repertoire doesn't mean guys who just throw gas and a slower offspeed pitch. Everybody can hit 100mph fastballs nowadays.
You want guys who have pitches that move, like sinkers, cutters, circle changes, big wonky curveballs, that kinda stuff. Especially the way sinkers move in this game, they are probably the toughest to hit with all the movement and break even if you throw it high.
So don't just look for flamethrowers with good H/9 and K/9. Look for pitchers that have a lot of moving pitches. You wanna get outs by generating weak contact, not by strikeouts. Striking out is a rarity nowadays anyway.

I kinda feel bad after reading your post, because I hardly ever accept a friendly quit. In my mind, you're looking for a game - so you wanna play. I often times feel like guys offer a FQ after they see my record and my banner - they assume I'm good and they do want to play, they just don't want to play me. I've had stretches where, if I accepted every FQ offered to me, I wouldn't be playing at all.
I get better results from SS Trout on CF, Finest Belli for RF (Or Vlad), and Kiner or Bregman on LF since Teddy Ballgame, though 100+ PAs, always underperform on me. Finest Baez or Ernie Banks starting SS so I can keep Honus on the bench, ready to pinch-run and play anywhere. 1B has always been my problem. Can't get consistent slugging out of Gherig, Thomas, A-Gon, but acceptable from Pujols. Kershaw is by far my best starter. Lefty is good too, and Buehler, Gibson (meh) and Strassburg. But Fuuuxk - Guidry, Madbum, Wainwright, Cole, Walter Johnson, hate them all.
Ted Williams does not live up to his attributes this year, I have the same problem with Babe Ruth who others absolutely love. I hit nothing but warning track screamers/flyouts. If you have the stubs I highly recommend trying SS Jimmie Foxx to fix your problem at 1B, his swing is the best in the game imo and he sprays it all over the field.
People are gonna choose dumb stadium times I don’t think there’s anything they can change about that. Those players are the problem there
They are yes, but I do think they could tone the brightness down a little bit. The brightness on my monitor is already kinda low (under 50/100) and it's still blinding at times.
What did you guys think? I like the idea of prospects being integrated in DD, should be a lot of fun to use those guys early on.
One thing I was kinda disappointed with, is that it seemed as if no changes whatsoever are made to the lighting designs during daytime games which will still make the ball invisible at certain stadiums/times of the day.
Well, just like in really MLB everyone tries to get you out by throwing FB up and by you. So i always start my PCI up. I do sometimes drop it too low, but for the most part i am able to crush the high to mid FB that everyone tries to throw by me.
I wish they threw me high fastballs all the time, in my experience everyone spams low offspeed pitches
