Im randomly thinking about this now, but do you think SDS will release another stage to Matthews, Eck, Pudge, cargo since they did that with Jackie and it would be cool to have the signature of those guys
If it makes money I wouldn't put It past themposted in Diamond Dynasty
Well it seems as though all you do is mock people who have legit issues with his game. You may not be Ramone, but you seem like an SDS employee.
Who are you arguing with? I dont see any responses. Your either arguing with a ghost or someone I blocked....(hint hint) lol
Good luck with these guys
Do you also have a tape measure you use to keep track of your home runs?
No a pitch counter would be better for that but then again that's really not needed because I can look up my stats to keep track of how many homeruns I have hit.
I do have a tape measure but I only use it to measure the distance of my homerunsposted in Diamond Dynasty
I’ve had this happen to me before but I’m dying laughing at the fact that you pulled out the stop watch
Lol.....I had too! I always figured the game can boost stats and manipulate gameplay in order to produce a desired result. Sds...here's your sign.posted in Diamond Dynasty
Struck out Juan Soto on dropped 3rd strike and he makes it to first surprisingly. No way...I check replay. He swings and is given a superhero animation running to first like the flash.
I break out the stop watch...he ran a 3.8 to first. Kenny lofton was known for a 3.9 to first. Major league average at the time I was playing was 4.2....how did he run faster than a player with 99 speed?
Or did the game just want my opponent to not ruin a perfect situation to score?posted in Diamond Dynasty
In recent years, SDS has brought so many legends to The Show for us to use in Diamond Dynasty. It wasn't long ago that our pool of legends was limited to only a few per team. Now? Almost every team has a good number of legends.
The Show 17 brought us Ken Griffey Jr., Roberto Alomar, Wade Boggs, Jorge Posada, and Jason Giambi among others.
The Show 18 gave us Babe Ruth, Frank Thomas, Mike Piazza, Bob Gibson, Vladimir Guerrero, and Roy Oswalt among a lot more. In fact, I think The Show 18 might have been our biggest jump from year-to-year.
... and of course The Show 19 continued the trend and brought out the big guns with Willie Mays, Rickey Henderson, Ivan Rodriguez, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Cy Young, and Walter Johnson.
With all those legends added, the game has evolved into a baseball fan's dream, especially in Diamond Dynasty where they've found a good balance of time spent and rewarding the player without the feeling that you need to spend money like so many other Ultimate Team card collecting modes. It made a ton of sense for them to target the bats before the arms but I think the next few years should be spent focusing on getting the big name pitching legends that we've been asking for.
It's true that they've added more than a few of baseball history's best hurlers but I still think that the selection of pitching legends is far too small. Obviously they took a huge step the last two years in acquiring rights to some great legends and I'm glad they got the rights to Mark Buehrle, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Robin Roberts, and Al Leiter this year; while last year we got Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Cy Young, and A.J. Burnett. There's no denying that the selection we have already is impressive but imagine a game with all the legends we have now, plus big names like:
- Pedro Martinez
- Randy Johnson
- Dwight Gooden
- Tim Lincecum
- Roy Halladay
- Barry Zito
- Mike Mussina
- Sandy Koufax
- Roger Clemens
- Curt Schilling
- Steve Carlton
Yeah, a few of those guys are unlikely (Clemens and Schilling specifically) but to match the legendary bats of Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, Babe Ruth, Ken Griffey Jr., Cal Ripken Jr., and Lou Gehrig, we need the best pitchers the world has ever seen to match. Just adding a few of these legends like Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and Roger Clemens would go so far and further the notion that MLB The Show offers the best Ultimate Team experience of any sports game.
It's exciting to think about the ridiculous matchups we could have and likely will have in the coming years. I could go on for hours talking about players I'd love to see return to or make their debut in The Show. I'm certain the team at Sony San Diego Studios shares this belief and are working on getting a large number of these guys into the game. Even beyond the household names they could build on those by adding other popular pitching legends like:
- Carlos Zambrano
- Tim Hudson
- Johan Santana
- David Cone
- Andy Pettitte
- Hoyt Wilhelm
- Brandon Webb
- Gaylord Perry (re-acquire his rights)
- Chuck Finley
- Josh Beckett
- David Wells
- Chris Carpenter
- Tim Wakefield
- Frank Viola
- Kevin Brown
- Javier Vazquez
- Dennis Martinez
- Bobby Thigpen
- Armando Benitez
- Jose Mesa
- Freddy Garcia
- Jon Matlack
- Brad Radke
- Dontrelle Willis
- Jim Bunning
- Hideo Nomo
- Jamie Moyer
- Don Drysdale
- Kyle Farnsworth
... and guys that recently retired like:
- C.C. Sabathia
- R.A. Dickey
- John Lackey
- Matt Harvey
- Bronson Arroyo
- C.J. Wilson
- Jonathan Papelbon
- Francisco Rodriguez
- Joe Nathan
- Ryan Dempster
- Dan Haren
- Matt Cain
- Jered Weaver
- Jonathan Papelbon
- Koji Uehara
- Junichi Tazawa
- Francisco Rodriguez
- Jonathan Broxton
- Brian Wilson
- Neftali Feliz
- LaTroy Hawkins
- Octavio Dotel
- John Axford
- Ryan Madson
- Jim Johnson
- Santiago Casilla
- Carter Capps
Sir I completely agree but Sds has a lot on its plate trying to get gameplay correct...its june and things are still a bit crazy...let's not add more pressureposted in Diamond Dynasty
Don't try the Williams moment, from ARI. you face Tanaka on AS,2 H 1 xbh, and he throws nothing but sliders and splitters, 35%strikes would be a miracle, I think he was closer to 10%
Yeah, that’s rough. I can understand people switching to directional in cases like that. Turn off your brain and roll the dice until your number comes up...
Pure gold.....I dont switch to directional but I turn off emotions and zone out. It's so mind numbing sometimes.. then you finally complete it and your like wow...only took 30 mins lolposted in General Discussion
Nah man. I’ve rewatched Wolf of wall street 20+ times when I get bored and its a 3 hour movie

A 125 may as well be a 75 if he can't place pitches despite high numerical ranking.
Can SDS explain within the context of the game what I am failing to do consistently to achieve a desired pitching result
I hit corners all day.
You must be the player determined to be at a disadvantage in most of your matchups. Lol jk. I'm calling sarcasm because..
1.) Hitting the corners is difficult
2.) If you hit the corner the chances of the umpire calling it are slim to none...and slim just died.
So what should be expected on perfect inputs on analog and pulse?
My advice when it comes to input is expect nothing. The game plays like bingo...you just have to be patient and wait for your number to be called.posted in General Discussion
I have never ever broken a controller in anger. Never thrown it, never even started the motion really. Then I played today preceded the aim four sinkers in the dirt, all good input, all aimed up correctly. Every single one ends up hanging out over the middle of the plate. 2 get crushed for bombs. I don't get it. I can't throw a ball in the dirt with a 92 ranked picture with perfect input. I think I'm going to step away from this game for a while. RIP controller
Sorry about that I know that feeling. I have never broken anything or gotten upset in years of gaming except last year. This game trolls you to the point that its unreal.
When you feel like your about to be messed over and then it happens again and again predictably you lose it because sometimes it feels like a sick joke as if there is a wizard of oz behind the curtain trolling you. Haha...that's why I limit myself to one game a dayposted in General Discussion
I wish they would bring back 94 Diamond Signature Series Bruce Sutter. Deadly split-finger, and his fastball was not overpowering, but enough to keep you on your toes and possibly by you. Definitely a dominant reliever/closer.
Taking it back to the show 16...
Joe Input Counts Jr...card raked and it was CONSISTENTposted in Diamond Dynasty
I was sure your answer to "Hey, I know what would make me feel better" was going to be "a donut."
A chocolate covered, creme filled donut from Krispy Creme would really hit the spot.
Dont be so sure of that...even perfect releases " don't hit the spot "posted in Diamond Dynasty
Background: My first baseball game was MLB 99 on PS1, then MLB The Show 15 which I played a lot since it was like the most realistic thing ever (compared to 99), then The Show 19 which I just played a little bit (20-25 games) and this year for well-known reasons I have played a lot The Show 20. I play offline, franchise.
This year I decided to push it and play in Legend mode. As expected I've been crushed in every way possible: 5-39 season (one of the 3 seasons I've started), games of 21-0 with almost 30 hits allowed, ERA's of 15.00 to 18.00 for some pitchers and all the ridicule stats you could imagine. Still, in some way I still see this normal because of all the aforementioned.
Thread: I know that AI is a tricky subject in the video games business (been reading about it on the web), but because of the many hours I've spent playing this game I have realized certain things about AI. It has become clear to me that AI "forces" outcomes in the game, constantly. I have no issues on been crushed constantly despite the efforts to get better, but I do have issues when no matter how good I play a game everything favors the CPU, batters hit HR's out of everything, pitches landed everywhere but where expected, etc., and THEN after losing 8-9 games in a row I win a game with half the efforts on my pitching and hitting (still in Legend mode), throwing strikes in the middle of the plate that are fouled most of the times, hitting easily fastballs, etc.
In one game today (the reason of the existence of this post) I was doing pretty decently until 3rd inning (0-0), and in the following two innings I received 10 runs, very forced most of them, and then magically, still with the same pitcher I regain control while being effortless. Like if AI thought I had received enough punishment. It felt VERY unrealistic. And I'm not even going into the ratings issues (most of the time I have harder games against the Orioles than the Dodgers).
So, I've started feeling like it doesn't matter how good I want to be at this game, that I invest a ridiculous amount of time, is just forced to lose every time as AI "dictates", and win once every 10 -12 loses when AI "dictates", no matter what I do as a player, no matter how good or bad I do. That definitely kills the fun and everything else, that sort of weird "predestination".
I know no game is perfect. I know this is a pretty good sports game. I'm in love with the graphics, the old timers cards, and a lot of the stuff they put into it. Also there is a lot of things to improve. But the fundamental reason of the existence of this game and us buying it is the gameplay. And if I had to choose, I will start improving the game by working on the AI making sense.
I am very eager to read everybody else opinion, if this is just me, If I'm completely wrong, if there are things I need to understand better to really enjoy this game, if it's absurd to spent a lot of hours trying to get better against the CPU, I don't know.
Ya it does seem unrealistic. Every time I give up a bomb in a huge game changing moment for them to take the lead. 96% of the time I strikeout the next batter as if the cpu is trying to console me....smh....years and years of playing you start to pick up patternsposted in General Discussion
Sounds like you are not okay with failing and even the best players in this game fail 70% of the time.
Baseball may just not be for you.
Sir this is a video game...its not baseball.
If the doctor calls and says did you get any exercise today would you say.... yes....I spent an hr playing baseball?
No you wouldn't. You would say no i didnt the only exercise i got was playing a video game pacing back and forth wondering why my pitches are going down the middle =c)posted in General Discussion
Why do my base runners not advance on a hit. Even with 2 outs, they dive back into the base they are already on. It’s very annoying and has cost me runs and games. Seems like it’s only started happening the last week or so. Anyway to fix this?
Yikes I'm not sure which is worse. Them advancing too many bases on their own...or them not advancing at all.
I remember this stuff starting in the show '17. The show '21 is just around the corner. Keep those fingers crossed.
I can’t stand this Bleep online anymore. Every [censored] yr it’s the same. Patches just ruin everything. Pitching is still broke. You get pop ups and fly outs for good timing, but give up dribblers in the IF and lazy fly balls that drop because your OF has a brain fart and leaves for the ball late. I want to take my PS4 and smash it into a million pieces. You let these suckas use common RHP in the the LHP Moonshot event cool. But when I’m getting good timing and popping up off that [censored] when I should be destroying a 64 ovr P that is straight [censored] sauce in an event called moonshot it just makes you want to frisbee your disc out the window. All I want to do is have fun and relax after work and play this game, but you can’t even do that because your game is broken and just doesn’t play well. I don’t want to hear anything from you sds stans about it plays great get good. Just shut up and save it. It doesn’t play good and hasn’t for years now. Gaming is supposed to relieve your stress and be fun,not cause more stress to the point you feel the need to write a long [censored] rant on said games website because you don’t want to smash your console. People steal bases at will because when you go to throw them out you have to wait until the C stands up before hitting the button to throw them out. Before as soon as you seen the base runner take off you could pre load the C throw meter, but now if you do the C just stands there and doesn’t throw the ball. Everything except the content completely sucks in this game. I truly hope you make some serious changes for next yr SDS. I love baseball and this by far is the top game since it’s the only one. But I hope EA starts making baseball again and gives y’all some competition so you will stop robbing us all and make a quality game once again. So disappointed ,every yr for the past 5 yrs we’ve been dealing with a broken version of this game. You guys will patch an XP glitch with the quickness, but will act like your deaf dum and blind when we ask you to fix the real problems with this game. It’s ridiculous that you can fix things that would help people rank up fast, but when it comes to the game that is broke, that you want us to grind so we can rank up the way you want, you leave it broken. But I know SDS Stans get good the game plays fine start getting perfect perfect instead of good vs 64 ovr common guys if you want to get a hit or HR. Lmao rant over have a great day
I have come to this conclusion. If you did not go far in competitive baseball...I would say at least college ( that's where you really start learning the ins and outs...unless your high school had an outstanding program ) the game plays fine. Ignorance is bliss...
We have to take that into consideration. This game was made for people who love baseball...not played it or knows it well. That's why the game is rewarding. To be able to do something you couldn't do in real life. I bet half of the show players strike out looking in beer league softball only to redeem themselves with a just late okay bomb off of Aroldis chapman.posted in General Discussion
